Bankstown Poetry Slam hosted its second annual Grand Slam last year at the Art Gallery of NSW. This sold-out event featured the highest scoring poets from its monthly slam and was a fierce battle of words on everything from politics, love and family to religion and identity. Join us for an exciting showcase of the diverse voices from the Grand Slam and see for yourself why Bankstown is home to the largest regular poetry slam in Australia. Hosted by Sara Mansour.

This event booked out last year so make sure you grab your tickets now to avoid disappointment!

Get a dose of reality as high school students from Western Sydney perform original spoken word poetry. They’ve all been been part of Real Talk, an award-winning spoken word poetry program created to help young people find their voices. In this showcase, teenagers from the program spit words from the heart and use slam poetry to tell it like it is. Sara Mansour, co-founder of Bankstown Poetry Slam, hosts this performance of fierce, funny and fresh voices of the future.
